I am a junior at the University of Southern California studying civil engineering. I have experience in construction engineering, specifically maritime construction, like wharfs and piers. On campus, I am the Vice President of Member Development of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, a member of Women in Engineering and involved with service through the Catholic Center. I am looking for opportunities for hands on learning this summer.
Over the past summer, I worked with a team to design the falsework needed to pour concrete for a wharf extension and utilized AutoCAD to draw the design and communicate to to others. During the week, I observed active construction sites and reported back on the overall safety and progress of several projects. And throughout the summer, I communicated with material suppliers to purchase materials that met project specifications and the Buy American Act.
Over the summer, I supervised and lived with campers from ages 10 to 13 and was responsible for planning and leading nightly devotionals with campers about Christianity. Additionally, I was certified in the camp ropes course and was responsible for setting up, cleaning up and working the ropes course daily and performed daily screenings for Covid 19.
I was responsible for setting up and cleaning up the pool and pool area before and after every shift, as well as observing the pool for potential safety hazards. Additionally, throughout my employment I maintained my CPR and First Aid training.
