My name is Dominic Estrada, and I recently completed my bachelor's in civil engineering in May 2025. In my undergraduate experience, I have participated in construction research under one my professors to look more into trends in LEED certified buildings. Additionally, I am one of the structural leads for my school's Timber Strong Design Build competition. Before all this, I have also had the opportunity to participate in NASA's Community College of Aerospace Scholars program, where I was able to partake in all three mission programs. Currently, I am looking for an opportunity in the Civil Engineering industry to where I will be able to apply my skills/experiences from undergrad.

My journey in engineering began in 8th grade when I discovered my passion for combining creativity and problem solving in my PLTW Engineering class. This early exposure led me to pursue engineering related activities throughout high school including my role as President of the Engineering Club and my participation in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). As I looked into the different engineering disciplines for college applications, I was drawn to civil and environmental engineering for its potential to directly impact communities and solve society's challenges. This aligns with my background in community service, where I dedicated four years to my school's Associated Student Body, planning events and contributing to discussions that directly affected my peers. Currently, I am a second year Civil Engineering student at UC Irvine, where my passion for the field has only grown stronger. I actively attend guest speaker events, participate on the Geowall team at UCI, and attend American Society of Civil Engineers(ASCE) events to deepen my understanding of the profession. My commitment to hands-on learning led me to secure a summer internship with the City of Citrus Heights, where I gained valuable insight into the public side of transportation engineering. Looking ahead, I am eager to explore more of the private sector of civil engineering. I am actively seeking an internship for the upcoming summer that will allow me to apply knowledge of AutoCAD and ArcGIS to real world projects and further develop my skills. My goal is to continue developing my knowledge of various specialties within civil engineering to the best of my ability so I can create infrastructure solutions that positively impact our society.

My name is Viviana Cabezas Lupercio, and I am currently entering my final year at the University of California, Irvine with a major in civil engineering, specializing in environmental hydrology and water resources. I found this job posting while looking for engineering internships in the Orange County area. I am a resident of Santa Ana looking for work and experience in the field of water management, hydrology, or civil engineering. I am eager to learn and apply skills that I have learned in my undergraduate education as well as develop and learn new skills that are not taught in classrooms. My name is Adrian Horta, and I am a full-time student at the California State University of Long Beach (CSULB), where I am to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in June 2022.  My academic training and experience in the construction field, have prepared me to be an effective candidate in your department. After having worked as both a roof salesman/ estimator, and as an installer, I have taken part in the development of numerous structures located throughout most Southern California Counties. As part of my experience, I have worked closely with customers, contractors, developers, inspectors, and realtors alike in mutual efforts to complete various residential and commercial projects. Hello! I am currently a rising junior studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Architecture at the University of Southern California! I am passionate about energy sources, especially the intersection between hydraulic energy and households, but am generally interested in anything that will help better the environment! I want to build something or develop an idea where hydraulic energy can be implemented in an affordable and cost-effective way in households. Hello! I am Jessica Minsol Kim (she/hers), a junior at the University of Southern California studying Environmental Engineering and minoring in International Relations. I have been working in a water lab since my freshman year and have hydraulics modeling experience. On campus, I serve on the cabinet of the Undergraduate Student Government as the Chief Programming Officer. I also serve as the Speaker's Chair for the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientist.  I am a USC Viterbi Undergraduate Research Fellow, ASCE Young Member's Forum International Women In Engineering Day Scholar, and J.A. Tiberti Civil Engineering Scholar.

Hi, my name is Haley Herberg. I am currently a junior at the University of Washington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. I have a passion for solving engineering problems and helping to protect the environment.  In my coursework so far, I have utilized Microsoft Excel, Matlab, and WolfPack to solve engineering problems in a variety of contexts. I have experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD form my geosurveying class. I have not yet had an internship, and I look forward to my first internship so I can learn from the engineers I will be assisting. In addition to my studies, I devote a large amount of my time to collegiate athletics. I run track and cross country for the Huskies, specializing in distance events. In both the academic world and the athletic world at University of Washington I am surrounded by people who push me to become better. Being a student-athlete, I have learned time management and prioritization. Additionally, the cooperation with my team and coaches toward a common goal prepares me for group projects in the engineering field. I am also conversational in Spanish and earned my Seal of Biliteracy upon graduating high school.  I would describe myself as determined, optimistic, and hard-working. My goal as an engineer is to work on projects that have a larger positive impact on my community than I would be able to have on my own. It would be very exciting to apply what I have learned in the classroom to a real-world application while serving the public. I am currently living in Seattle, Washington to train with my team while taking online classes, but this summer I will have the option to either live here or in Mission Viejo, California with my family.
